Dear Members,

After serving the Institute of Public Relations Malaysia (IPRM)  as a Treasurer, I am entrusted to be the Secretary. It’s indeed an honour and I take this responsibility seriously. My tenure with the IPRM started during the late A.M Jaafar’s leadership era.

I was assisting Mr Philip Mathews as the Assistant Editor for our BERITA IPRM.

Times have changed. As the Secretary of the Council, my first task is to create a close and vibrant secretariat which is the link between the council and all its stakeholders especially our members. Members want an efficient office, which can relate, connect and facilitate their membership and other industry related issues.

I have had a wonderful session with En Razak our Executive Director, and we have already started working on the various Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) so that we can function more effectively and efficiently.

The IPRM council is here to serve. We make a good team representing the public and private sector. We are very keen to increase our membership and also seriously pursue our dream to get the Public Relations Act in place with the support and cooperation of all parties.

There is much to do, to make things better for the PR industry. At the council we are ready to take the challenge, it’s my sincere hope you too will join hands with the council members lead by Dato Hamdan Adnan to make a difference!

Hope and pray the 2010-2011 council members will make a visible change to our industry!
